(Kaohsiung) The Culture and Tourism Department of KOC planned the obligatory “The World Games Plaza”, which will be open between July 15- 26. During that time, not only over 5,000 VIPs and athletes, officials and Taiwanese will have a spree together, enjoy the culture and passion, but also, the global tourists will get the chance to fall in love with Kaohsiung.
The World Games Plaza will be held alongside the Love River at the True Love Harbor and the Glory Pier. KOC invited the chambers of commerce from 17 countries, as like USA, Japan, Germany, and Austria to join this big event and organize their main cultural exhibition. The activities will include of multicultural cuisine, Dubai special-style fireworks, concerts and dancing shows. Visitors will have the chance to tour through a beautiful global village at Kaohsiung’s pier area.
During that period, TWG Plaza’s programs include of the “Athletes’ night”, “VIP’s night”, Sponsors’-Coca Cola and Volkswagen-night”, everyday will invite one top athlete to be “today’s Star”, invited more than 10 local culture performance teams, like aboriginal culture, penmanship performance, traditional Taiwanese Operas, Taiwanese Traditional Hand Puppet Show, campus folk concert and folk drum & arts group, classical Chinese music, campus cheer squad etc.
KOC indicated there will additionally be a “Kaohsiung exhibition” that shows the sea industry and feature merchandise of Kaohsiung City. Throughout July, there will also be world famous duck tours available, by which one can cruise Kaohsiung City by a “land and sea” tours bus. Otherwise, people can also go on idle pulley cruises at Kaohsiung Port, at True Love Pier, and traditional “love boats” on Love River.
